Browser Extension
AvailableSave the page you're looking at to sum.md in a single keystroke — then use it everywhere your AI agent works.
What it is
The sum.md extension captures the current browser tab and sends it to your knowledge base, where it's summarized and indexed like any other entry. From there it's available to your AI agents as context via MCP. Available for Chrome.
What you can save
- Web articles — main content extracted automatically via Readability
- YouTube videos — the transcript is captured for summarization
- Twitter / X posts — tweet text and media
- Any page — select text first to save just that passage
Install
Install from the Chrome Web Store: sum.md on the Chrome Web Store.
Get started
After installing, click the extension and sign in — sum.md connects your account automatically (one time, no API key to copy). Once that's done you can close the tab and start saving.
Three ways to save
Save the current page however suits you:
- Press
⌘ / Ctrl + Shift + S - Right-click the page and choose the sum.md context-menu item
- Click the toolbar icon to open the popup
Each save lands in your library as clean markdown — automatically given a title, summary, and tags, then indexed for search. Your agents can then pull it in as context; see the MCP guide.
Managing the extension key
The extension's key is created and managed automatically. It appears in Settings under API Keys as Chrome Extension, and is regenerated each time you reconnect — so there is only ever a single extension key. You can revoke it anytime; reconnecting from the extension creates a new one.
