Browser Extension

Available

Save the page you're looking at to sum.md in a single keystroke — no copy-paste, no switching tabs.

What it is

The sum.md extension captures the current browser tab and sends it to your knowledge base, where it is summarized and indexed like any other entry. It is available for Chrome.

Good for

  • Articles and blog posts you want to keep
  • YouTube videos — the transcript is captured for summarization
  • Tweets and threads
  • Any selected text on a page

Install

Install from the Chrome Web Store: sum.md on the Chrome Web Store.

Connect once

After installing, open the extension and sign in. sum.md hands the extension a fresh API key through the connect flow — once that's done you can close the tab and start saving.

This key is created and managed automatically. It appears in Settings under API Keys as Chrome Extension, and is regenerated each time you reconnect — reconnecting replaces the previous one, so there is only ever a single extension key. You can revoke it anytime; reconnecting from the extension creates a new one.

How to use

Once connected, save the current page three ways:

  • Press ⌘ / Ctrl + Shift + S
  • Right-click the page and choose the sum.md context-menu item
  • Click the toolbar icon to open the popup

Each save lands in your library as clean markdown, summarized and tagged automatically.
